The Swan Island Dhalias Field in Canby, Oregon features endless species of dahlias, free parking and admission, picnic tables, a small water pond with koi fish, and a quaint little gift shop. The fields are open daily from 8 AM – 6 PM starting August 1st through September, and possibly October depending on the weather.
We arrived around 10 AM on a Thursday morning, and there were no crowds at all. There were plenty of parking spaces and about 3-4 other people strolling through the field.
It was fun taking pictures and reading the unique names for each type of dahlia. The gift shop also includes many handmade items, jewelry, essential oils, books, mugs, keychains, and other Oregon souvenirs. It was a refreshing way to start the day and look at many pretty flowers.
