Affordable and Healthy Meals with MIXT at Silver Lake, CA

“I really regret eating healthy.” Said no one ever. This post has been sponsored by MIXT. All thoughts and reviews are my own.

If you didn’t know, MIXT just had their grand opening at their third Los Angeles location in Silver Lake on Saturday, October 26th. The address is: 3100 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026 and they’re open from 11am – 9pm daily.

MIXT is a fast-casual restaurant with a mission to bring better eating to everyone by serving farm-fresh salads, sandwiches and grain bowls. You can easily customize your menu items or order them as is on the menu. What’s really cool is that their menu is seasonal and will change up, to always keep it fresh and fun! You can check out their menu here.

Jesse and I went on a Saturday, and were impressed with their new Salad Valet “Salet” curbside service. You could pre-order your meal and easily pick it up at the Salet, and they offer a chilled slice of watermelon! Upon entrance, you’ll see a salad bar to the left and a seating area to the right. There are also outdoor seating with shade.

We ordered four different menu items, and they were all so mouthwatering. I personally love spinach, so I ordered a custom salad with all spinach, cucumber slices, mango, apple slices, parmesan cheese, spring onions, and chicken breast. For my dressing, I chose the sriracha ranch and guys — I was OBSESSED. Ask for two sides of sriracha ranch, and you won’t regret it! It’s essentially ranch, with a nice aftertaste kick which really ties in the entire salad.

This is the Rooster Sandwich, which contains grilled chicken, sliced apples, sharp cheddar, basil pesto, arugula, aïoli, all in a torpedo roll. It basically contains all of my favorite ingredients, so I was obsessed. The basil pesto and aïoli really mixed well together, and you get a nice aftertaste from the sharp cheddar, along with a crispy texture from the apple slices. Definitely recommend this if you’re in the mood for a sandwich.

The Bachelor Salad was amazing. It’s mixed greens, arugula, grilled flat iron steak, blue cheese, herb roasted potatoes (yum!), cherry tomatoes, savory herbs, balsamic vinaigrette, and topped with caramelized onions and breadcrumbs. It was so flavorful and mouthwatering with every bite, you just have to have another bite right away. Jesse devoured this salad and said he would definitely come back to order this again.

We also customized our Market Plate and ordered the grilled flat iron steak with miso ginger glaze, roasted brussels sprouts, and grilled broccoli. If you love brussels sprouts, then you will be obsessed with these! They made with evoo, maldon salt and savory herbs, and roasted to perfection. The grilled broccoli (which is Jesse’s favorite veggie) is topped with lemon and chili flakes. The flat iron steak was also nice and tender, and had a slight tangy taste from the miso ginger glaze.

They also have an assortment of Lemonade + Organic Kombucha and Organic Iced Tea. We tried the turmeric ginger lemonade and their unsweetened organic peach green iced tea.

If you are ever in Los Angeles strolling through Sunset, and feelin’ something healthier, definitely check out MIXT! We would for sure go back all the time if we were local and eat there. My favorite part is that you can easily customize the menu items, which is perfect for picky eaters. I’m looking forward to the next season so we can go back and check out what other menu items they’ll have to offer.
