How To Create A Romantic Backyard Picnic for Valentine’s Day

On January 17th, Jesse and I celebrated our one year anniversary and I had set up a little backyard picnic. I 10/10 recommend having a picnic for you and your spouse, even for the heck of it. It’s always All you really need are pillows, a blanket, some good food and drinks. Of course, throw in a little *Pinterest inspo* and aesthetic to elevate the picnic. Since we still can’t go out and about, a picnic is an

I used my Gathre midi+ mat and added a few pillows around the edges to hold down the mat. Whatever blanket you use to lay on, make sure it fits at least two people and have ample space for food and activities. I also used my Gathre pouf to use as a table, and an easy prop on the side to hold down the mat. If it’s a windy day, add a couple of blankets for some extra warmth. For food, I stuck to a cheese and prosciutto charcuterie board, Italian pastries, chocolates, and wine. You can always set up brunch items, like fruits, croissants, and mimosas. Or even dessert items, like chocolates and candies. You also can’t go wrong with your go-to take out foods. Just don’t forget napkins and utensils!

Setting up a picnic layout can be as simple or glamorous as you’d like. Prop up a tent to make it cosier, or add string lights to make it whimsical. Board games or painting on a small canvas are also fun ideas for any picnic. It’s also a great moment to have quality conversations about life.

Think about an activity you and your spouse enjoys to do, and plan something around that. If you don’t have a significant other, there is nothing wrong with also celebrating friendship. FaceTime/Video call your closest friends and have a virtual picnic, dinner, movie night, etcetera.
